About the author:
 Julie Kopová is one of the prominent talents of contemporary Czech abstract painting. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2015–2021), where she studied in the studios of Jiří Sopek, Robert Šalanda and Vladimír Skrepl, she supplemented her education by studying philosophy at Charles University. She was also significantly influenced by a study internship at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich.

In 2023, she achieved significant auction success when her painting Asteroid was auctioned at Christie's in Amsterdam for 8.19 thousand EUR including auction commission. Her works have been presented in prestigious institutions such as Pragovka Gallery, Galerie Kvalitář or Galerie Benedikta Rejta.

About the work:
 The painting Release The Spirit represents the author's characteristic work with strong colors, contrasting surfaces and expressive gestures, in which automatism is combined with the philosophical concept of space and emptiness. In her work, Julie Kopová connects painting with music and intuitive drawing, thereby creating works with a deep emotional and formal charge. The expressive formal freedom and work with the rhythm of colored and empty surfaces reflect the author's fascination with philosophy and landscape.

Release The Spirit is an example of her current work, which attracts the attention of collectors and the professional public and confirms her position among the most progressive authors of the young generation.
